Zuni - Lorraine Waatsa is known for her high quality cluster jewelry. Taught by her mother, Alice Quam, Lorraine has obtained her own reputation for fine jewelry. She works in silver, gold and a variety of materials including Chinese turquoise, coral, jet lapis, opal and Sleeping Beauty turquoise. Lorraine lives with her husband and sometimes collaborator, Luwayne Waatsa. She has won several awards for her work over the years.

Oval Coral Cluster Bolo Tie

The sterling silver bolo tie has an oval cluster centerpiece with an intricate sterling silver design of fifty dark red natural coral, recessed silver rope trim, and silver beading. The braided black leather cord measures approximately 3/8" in diameter. The sterling silver bolo tips have a bench-made silver bead on the end. The centerpiece measures approximately 3" wide x 3 1/4" long. Signed by the artist.

Red Coral Ring

Size 6 1/2. The sterling silver cluster ring has seventeen dark red coral on an oxidized background with recessed rope trim around the center and silver bead accents. The split wire sterling silver band is tapered from approximately 1/2" to 3/16" wide. The top measures approximately 1 1/8" wide x 1 5/8" long. Signed by the artist.

Turquoise Cluster Cuff

Large, rope trimed oval turquoise stone surrounded by 18 teardrop turquoise stones and silver beading. 3 rows of teardrop turquoise stones with silver beading taper off each side of the center cluster. All turquoise stones are bright blue with hints of dark matrix. Center cluster measures 1 3/8" x 2". Split wire cuff consists of 2 half round wires which taper to 5/16" wide with a 15/16" opening. Fits up to a 6 1/8" wrist. Signed by the artist.
